NPA Course: Physical application and assistive aid devices

The courses do not have to be taken in the correct order. Each course is an independent continuation of what was before.

SUBJECT: 

• Main issues regarding the musculoskeletal system, structure of the spine and posture.
• Main risk factors for stress symptoms at work.
• Work positions and physical fitness. What is desirable, what is not, and why?
• Use of basic aids.
• Examine different needs for different aids and how to apply for assistive devices.
• Co-operation and the impact of morale in the working relationship between work leaders and personal assistants.

OBJECTIVES:

• Participants gain insight into how the body's musculoskeletal system works.
• That participants understand the importance of desired physical exercise.
• That participants can assimilate and guide others in work positions that are considered desirable.
• Participants gain insight into how different aids are suitable for different individuals and/or situations and are familiar with the application process for assistive devices.
• The lessons will be broken up with discussions about the participants' daily tasks as needed.

FOR WHOM?  The course is open to all, but members of NPA miðstöðin and their assistants have priority. Limited availability. 

We encourage both work leaders and assistants to take the course.

It is important for work leaders to be able to guide new assistants on proper physical application and use of assistive devices, to promote the well-being of assistants at work and improved assistance for the work leaders.

GROUPS 

 This course will have one group for all participants.

PRICE: Free for workleaders and assistants within NPA miðstöðin. For others: 5.000kr for a single course but 15.000kr for the first aid course.
